Albanian, of characteristic form. See The Arms of Greece and Her Balkan Neighbors in the Ottoman Period, Elgood p.102. 10 1/4" length, .60 cal. barrel scroll decorated and inlaid with a brass mark at the breech (worn). Well-detailed miquelet lock with a fancy sculpted bridle to the pan. The stock is entirely encased in engraved and embossed brass, with a 5/8” square piece out to the left side. The wrist with two rows of four white metal “grape clusters”. Iron trigger guard. Elegant stepped swelled butt. Distortion of the brass sheathing from shrinkage of the wood core within as expected. A good example of this type is significantly variant from other Ottoman pistols.
