The period of the Roman conquest of England and Scotland. Forged iron, 5” length elegantly tapered blade (thin for slashing). Curved tang, originally wrapped in leather with ring pommel. As well, the narrow profile made it a fine thrusting weapon. Optimizing both functions, this example is the Celtic fighting knife in its iconic developed form. Professionally conserved condition.
