Gilt bronze, size 5 ¾-6 with a 3.0mm deeply rounded band slightly swelled at the bottom. Raised oval bezel with scalloped edge, inscribed with calligraphy. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.102 for an identical example identified as Islamic 10th-16th century, a blessing ring. Almost surely part of the booty was captured after the Siege of Vienna in 1683. After the battle, 20,000 wagonloads of booty were gathered. Thus, it is almost certain that any surviving 17th-century Turkish weapons or accessories such as this were part of that massive booty. Excellent preservation and professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored for modern wear, with certification of authenticity, and jewelry gift boxed.
