Found by a metal detector around 2000 at Ypres (Belgium) scene of some of the most intense fighting between the English and French bringing the German advance to a stalemate. Made of aluminum salvaged from ordnance. Size10 1/4, 3.4mm width of deeply rounded section as the aluminum is thicker than most rings. Light gray surface oxidation. Probably made it for his sweetheart but never made it out of the trench.
