ROMAN SIGNET RING 1ST-2ND CENTURY AD, SIZE 5 ¾

Gilt bronze, size 5 ¾ with 2.6mm rounded face band, flaring at the shoulders. Oval bezel with well delineated figure of a horse, perhaps representing Pegasus. See Ancient Rings, Pollio p.67 for another example of that period with that theme. Surface textured from burial with the 24karat gold restored for modern wear.
