10 7/8” overall made in two pieces with forge welded joint. Leaf shaped spear head with swelled medial cross section and open seam conical socket pierced with a square hole for a securing stud. The junction with a down turned crescent form cross piece which would serve to pull a horseman from his horse or cut his reins. Stable uniform oxidized condition. See Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, #97.PA for a quite similar example as well as other variants.  As these were made from whatever was available including broken horse shoes, it is likely that even those produced by the same smith varied from each other
