MALAY BADEK

Early 19th century. Wood hilt with scalloped expanded terminal and black horn base ring. 7 1/4" s.e. wedge section blade with slightly recurved clipped point blade. Wood scabbard with contoured throat incised with scrolling foliage and dark wood base mount. Scabbard lightly encrusted from handling and shows a few worm holes and tracks. Hilt exc. Blade shows gray patina with mixed rust speckles, negligible for the period.
