Civil War issue. Standard pattern, Peterson #10. 32 1/2" single edged blade with makers name to the ricasso. The opposite side with U S / GKC /1864 (inspector George K. Charter).  The guard with A D K inspector’s mark of Allen D King. Blade with smooth gray patina and superficial staining only. Hilt with storage surface soiling and age patina. Excellent Civil War example.
