Lunar pendants were worn as pectorals as well as suspended from belts, other clothing and horse harnesses. This example is just under 1” (0.98”) high with a bulbous central column superimposed on the crescent moon. Matching bulbous terminals representing Sol the sun and Mani the Moon. Addorsed bifurcated members, detailed in nubs along with the crescent. Most likely a complex celestial reference. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Suspended from an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
