MEDIEVAL CASTLE DUNGEON SHACKLE. 13TH-14TH CENTURY - Fagan Arms
Recovered at Koenigstein Castle, western Germany. Forged iron ring captive in a tapered elongated pyramidal spike which was driven into the wood superstructure, or between the stones, to provide an anchorage for a shackled prisoner. Forged iron, the ring about 3” greatest dimension. Found by metal detector at the castle site and professionally stabilized.
