FINE FRENCH CHASSEPOT SWORD BAYONET

1866 Pattern with 22 ½” blade inscribed Mfr L’Ounes de St Etienne fbr 1874 with crisp arsenal marks. Iron guard with further crisp marks. Blued scabbard, the sword and scabbard with matching serial numbers. The best preserved example of this pattern we’ve encountered with blade crisp and bright. Minor staining to the guard, strictly superficial. The scabbard with all its bright blue and surface speckles which can polish off as the surface is blued, not painted.
