FINE EASTERN EUROPEAN CROSS, 17TH CENTURY

Ukrainian or Russian. Gilt bronze, just under 1 1/4” in height (1.21”). Raised edge beams with a stick cross, the charges and foot rest delineated. Each beam terminal with a figure or cipher.  The junction with a large halo with nodules at the quarter points. Reverse with a bordered cross with Cyrillic text infill. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and on an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with Certificate of Authenticity.
