19th century mounting an earlier blade as is typical. Wood grip carved with a stylized parrot head, perhaps a reference to Garuda. Bronze mendak. Two piece wood scabbard. The throat elaborately carved both sides as a squatting bird, probably a hornbill, with curled tail and long curved beak. 15” 4 ½ wave blade of deeply figured meandering grain pamir steel with figured root. A little stabilized oxidation at the base, but an especially proud full section with the graining well preserved.
