FINE JAPANESE LACQUERED BOWL AND COVER, OWAN

For soup or rice. Meiji C.1867-1912. 4 ¾" diameter, both of full rounded profile. Deep brown body color, the interiors orange. Bowl and top decorated with gold tendrils, trefoil leaves and berries.  All gold decoration is true gold in a lacquer matrix. Produced by the true lacquer (not paint) process which takes months of layering and drying. Additional details to the purchaser. Fine quality and condition.
