CELTIC MAN’S RING C.600-300 BC SIZE 8

Size 8 of thick circular section, slightly tapered through its length. Made by the lost wax process. A bee’s wax pattern was rolled out and formed as a circle. A sprue (channel for the metal to flow to the pattern) was attached and the whole coated in clay. When dry, the molten bronze was poured on, vaporizing and replacing the wax. Celtic rings and bracelets were typically made overlapping as here rather than continuous. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface replaced.
