Rectangular oak block, 7 ¾” x 2 5/8”, drilled with 24 holes for paper cartridges. Leather covered with two belt loops to the back. See Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution, p.66 #2 for a similar example. The leather complete but for a small damage to the right front. Leather surface crazed but supple. The block with damage as shown.
