That maker and mark are recorded on a very similar sword sold by Christie’s London, June 22, 2011 for £6250. Hilt with dark patina. Blade crisp with remnants of a bird to the left forte and scattered pitting, mostly to the right side. Originally armed with grenades, grenadiers were, by his time, specialized infantry selected for size and superior fighting skills.
