Item Number: cwr5
Rural cottage industry manufacture made in the lost wax technique in two pieces.  The band flared and ribbed at  the top and joined to the bezel.   The tall bezel on roped band of slightly irregular oval shape to conform to the shape of the black streaked yellow stone, probably agate.  Surface worn with remnants of “silver” plating, probably nickel.  Note that nickel plating was well established (as seen in pocket pistols) well before the Civil War.  The stone with good color and polish.  Size 11.  Early find, likely Confederate, with negligible effects of burial.
