An original Australian Aborigine spear from the famed Reuben Rubens collection. In 1992, we purchased all the Aborigine spears in the collection and have seen no others for sale in the last three decades. These would date uniformly to about the turn of the 20th century.
76 1/2” length. Cane haft with separated hard wood point cut with a series of increasing size barbs. No breaks, just two with small chips only. Cord wrapped pitch covered (flaked) socket.
