Item Number: na12
This is an Japanese war arrow of the Early Edo period, about 1700. It has a fine cane shaft with wood nock, black lashed sea bird fletching and fine cord wound socket. The head is a fine large armor piercing type known as Togari, beautifully formed with the slightest flare at the bottom. Note how the end of the shaft is slightly rounded to follow the line of the head base. Total Length is 39 1/8. The fletching is in fine condition for its age. There is an overall dark patina. This is about as fine a Samurai arrow as can be found.
