89 3/4 length. Heavy forged iron head with opened socket, fastened to the heavy wood haft with two spikes. Surface shows glossy black patina from forging and age. Some tool marks and isolated pitting. Tip somewhat blunted from use. Haft VG with dark patina and surface encrustation. Good early character throughout. Classic example as once were stored in the hundreds of thousands in European armories and armed the peasantry.
