Items #492-#500 are Viking garment broaches C.866-1067 AD. All are bronze and attached by integral pierced posts on the back which penetrated the thick fabric or leather and were secured with pins. They served as ornaments as well as providing a measure of protection. Probably and elongated version of #492 form. 1 1/16 height. Light surface texture and both post tips worn through.
