Type which served through the War of 1812. 32” curved, broad, broad fullered blade,
etched, blued and gilt in foliage clusters and trophy of arms incorporating the
Liberty cap and stars and bars. Etching
crisp with the gold about 100% intact.
The blue turned to mottled blue/brown.
Few small areas minor oxidation, negligible for the period. Brass hilt with stirrup form guard and
elegantly modeled eagle head pommel.
Ribbed bone grip. Hilt shows
fine age patina and some silver plate remaining. Grip shows single age crack to the right
side. Superior example for proportions
and condition.
