The sons of nobles and military officer’s were indoctrinated to weapons at their earliest ages to condition them for their future roles.  This brass hilt saber with 13 5/8” steel blade and brass mounted steel scabbard would have been carried by a mere toddler.  Its condition is as expected for an 18th century sword carefully used.  It is the smallest child’s sword we have encountered.  The survival rate from all children’s swords is very low and this example is likely unique.
